In Celebration of Women’s History Month a performance of
the sole surviving opera by Francesca Caccini— La liberazione di Ruggiero  (Freeing Ruggiero from the sorceress Alcina) the first woman known to have composed opera and the most prolific female composer of the 17th century. Directed by soprano and distinguished professor of music, Dr. Julianne Baird, and Dr. Mark Rimple.
